End of the World: Doctor Who Style
Who would've thought that the world would end through Doctor Who. One
Christmas morning every geek, nerd, and fan sat down in front of their
televisions and tuned into the brand new Doctor Who Christmas special.
Like most Christmas specials, it was the start of a new season.
Everything was fine. The Doctor was doing his normal routine of being
attached by Christmas themed aliens and alien technology. He was
finding a new companion or a potential companion and everything was
headed for a happy ending. Suddenly, halfway through the special, a
weird message breaks through and all the machines in everyone's houses
turn on on their own. The message comes through in ones and zeros, like
a computer but so fast you couldn't tell any of the words apart. Just
as suddenly as it starts, it stops. The normal program is back on and
all of the machines have stopped. Confused, people go back to watching
the Doctor save the day when they hear the sound that often means a two
part episode. "Exterminate! Exterminate! EXTERMINATE!" This is the sound of a Dalek. The Daleks
are the sworn enemies of the time lords and therefor, the Doctor. But
there was something different about these Daleks. They seemed closer
and more real. Suddenly, a Dalek appears in living rooms of every geek,
nerd, fan, and random person who tuned into watching Doctor Who.
Keeping true to the Dalek nature even though these Daleks didn't have
any idea where they were, the Daleks strove to become the
ultimate species and to do that, kill all others. On Christmas morn,
the Daleks battle cry rang in the ears of all of planet Earth, "Exterminate! Exterminate!"
All of the people who had ever watched Doctor Who hoped upon hope that
the Doctor would appear but it was not to be. For this is a sad world
without a Doctor or any time lords out there to save them. Within an
hour all but one person on planet Earth was dead. A man with no memory
and two hearts named John Smith.
